Cartier was founded by Louis-Francious Cartier in 1847 during the times of the ongoing French revolution. Rising of the Second Empire, the business grew over a decade with the first cartier boutique in 1859. Alfred, who is Louis-Francois's son, took over the business and moved it to the prestigious rue de la Paix in the jewellery district of Paris. After that, Alfred's sons expanded the Cartier brand, to London and New York. The ring above is called the Panthere De Cartier with 18k yellow gold, onyx, set with 2 emeralds and 242 brilliant-cut diamonds with a total of 2.21 carats. The width of this ring, the carat weight, number of stones is based on the size of the creation of the ring.
