Contrast Final Piece

Final piece

This is my final jewellery piece that falls under the theme of Contrast. This necklace was inspired by a resin jeweller named Kaz Robertson by the used of her colours and patterns with her piece titled Don't Match Studs.

For my final piece, contrast is shown with colour, pattern and texture. In terms of colour, for my clay beads is a combination of red and pink in opposition to brown. The red beads have pattern whereas the brown beads don't have any pattern at all. For my centrepiece, I made the domed circles smooth and and background rough in terms of texture.

My design and manufacturing process was challenging yet soul-satisfying. The most challenging part for me was making the colour of the beads come out exactly as how I designed it but overall I loved and enjoyed the whole process as I learnt that sometimes in life we don't always get the the things we hope for but that doesn't mean we can't have fun throughout the whole journey.

Contrast Necklace

Clay Necklace

This is the my necklace after it was glazed. Even though the colours of the beads didn't come out exactly as I had hoped for, I am still happy with my necklace as it came out exactly as how I designed it. The design of my beads were red and orange whereas the outcome of my beads became light brown and pale pink. Some of the pink beads became two coloured due to loadshedding concluding them to not being glazed enough.

Contrast Prototype

Clay Necklace

As I am continuing with my prototype from my previous beads, adding colour with paint I really started to fall in love with it more. As I am slowing working with my prototype, I came to the conclusion of making it my final piece as it increasingly became eye catching and also how I imagined.

Contrast Prototype

Clay Beads.

These clay beads are part of my prototype as they are the only pieces I have made so far. As I have made different types of beads as I want to show contrast with different colours and pattern. One beads have pattern and the other with no pattern, which is indication of Contrast. For the beads with pattern, I will paintt it in red and for the beads with no pattern I will paint it in orange.
